The laboratories at RAO (called Officine RAO) – where particular attention is given to expanding sectors like ecology and intermodal transport – produce steel and light alloy trimmings for trucks, trailers, and semi-trailers. Our latest generation of products represents RAO’s real “flagship” product. All of the production at Officine RAO is supported by an excellent replacement service and by consultants specialized in handling materials.
RAO has always distinguished itself for its dynamism, having always been a company ready to meet the changes of the auto transport needs, by successfully supplying highly competitive products.
In 1971 Dino Rossi established RAO in a small workshop in the center of Marina di Montemarciano, a village near Ancona, and in 1976, he reached his first objective by building a 500 sq mt covered warehouse on a surface area covering 6300 square meters.
Despite working with a small artisanal organization, the company’s production grew so much that another 1100 square meters were added in 1979. After this second phase, with production still growing, RAO further expanded its building with offices in 1982, adding a total area of 5000 square meters, as well as 15000 square meters dedicated to parking. In 1997 another area was purchased, where two buildings were put up. A modern cutting-edge painting facility was set up in the first building, whereas the second building became home to RAO service center.
Today RAO boasts of having 25 employees. We collaborate with various high quality carpentry and lathe making workshops for some components, some of which are patented (see complex spheres and supports, zips designed by us and the new counter frameworks made out of alloys for tippers).
RAO, with its small origins, has become a company with great potential in terms of production, which thanks to its know-how and technical expertise in the field is able to add a sophisticated and customisable touch to a vehicle.
